Mischa Bredewold succeeds Lorena Wiebes as European champion after 10km solo run

The European championships mark a wonderful end to the crazy road season for Team SD Worx. The European champion will also ride with the Dutch World team next year. Mischa Bredewold successfully completed a ten-kilometre solo and triumphed atop the VAM mountain, ahead of her teammates at Team SD Worx Lorena Wiebes (silver) and Lotte Kopecky (bronze). "I can't believe it. It feels unreal that I take the European title," Bredewold responded enthusiastically.

Hat-trick for Marlen Reusser, Swiss takes third consecutive European time trial title

Marlen Reusser lived up to her favourites role. With an average speed of 49.828 kilometres per hour, she steamed to her third consecutive European time trial title in Emmen. Silver medallist Anna Henderson followed at 43 seconds, third Caroline Schweinberger at 44 seconds. Defined European champion it is then called. "That I realise the hat-trick is very special. Every time you have to fight for that jersey again. I am happy to wear it for another year," said Marlen Reusser.

Demi Vollering also adds overall victory in Tour de Romandie to palmares

2023 was an extremely successful season for Demi Vollering. With final victory in Tour de Romandie, the reigning Dutch champion adds another prestigious race to her impressive list in 2023. That includes, among others, Strade Bianche and the Ardennes tripple, as well as overall victory in the Vuelta a Burgos and, of course, the Tour de France Femmes. Next week the time trial and road race at the European Championships in the Netherlands still await. "The last stage of Tour de Romandie was a real battle. It was difficult to keep everything under control, but I am proud to add the this beautiful race to my palmares."

Demi Vollering grabs power in queen stage Tour de Romandie, four Team SD Worx riders in top ten

Demi Vollering is all the way back after a bad cold knocked her out of the Simac Ladies Tour. In the queen stage in the Tour de Romandie, she was alone in front with Kasia Niewiadoma. In the final metres, she sprinted to her 16th win of the season. Team SD Worx had a top day with Marlen Reusser (3rd), Niamh Fisher-Black (5th & best youngster and Anna Shackley (9th) also in the top ten. "This was the perfect team tactic. We want to win the overall classification with Team SD Worx," said winner Demi Vollering.

In the final stage of the Simac Ladies Tour, Team SD Worx coloured the race. Lotte Kopecky, Lorena Wiebes and Mischa Bredewold were in the front, with Elena Cecchini, Barbara Guarischi and Femke Markus stopping at the back. After which Lotte Kopecky launched Lorena Wiebes into the sprint with a firm lead-out. The European champion steamed to the stage win, the world champion took the overall win. "After three second places, I really wanted to win the sprint today. We rode a strong Simac Ladies Tour with three stage wins and the overall victory," said Lorena Wiebes.

Demi Vollering is leaving the Simac Ladies Tour due to illness. The Dutch road champion is suffering from a bad cold. It was therefore decided not to start in Valkenburg for the fourth stage of the Dutch stage race as a precaution. Vollering normally still rides Tour de Romandie (15-17 September) and the time trial (20 September) and the road race at the European Championships (23 October) this season. "Demi was not feeling super in the past few days, but tried to push on. But now that it turns out she is sick, resting is the only right choice. Hopefully she can still get some nice results in Romandie and at the European Championships, but obviously her season is already more than successful," sports manager Danny Stam said.

Lotte Kopecky lives up to favourites and wins world road title, Demi Vollering takes silver

Lotte Kopecky came, saw and conquered. The 27-year-old Belgian was pushed into the role of top favourite beforehand and she lived up to it. Just over five kilometres from the finish, she flew away from Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig uphill and raced to the world title. Seven seconds after Kopecky, Demi Vollering took the silver medal. Kopecky made history by giving her country Belgium another gold in the World Road Championship exactly half a century after Nicole van den Broek. The highlight in a week in which she had previously captured two world titles on the track. "2023 is a fantastic year on the one hand, but at the same time also very tough. The Strade Bianche was Demi Vollering's first major victory in 2023. She never dared to dream that so many beautiful major victories and places of honour would follow afterwards. Team SD Worx reaction to exclusion sport director Danny Stam from Tour de France Femmes

We are surprised that the UCI imposes this penalty, but accept this measure. Perhaps in the first moment we reacted a little too emotionally to Demi Vollering's time penalty. Too bad this happened. With Anna van der Breggen as first sport director, we will continue the race and go back to focusing fully on the race itself as soon as possible. Team SD Worx did not have the most fortunate day at the Tour de France Femmes. In the morning, it already became clear that Lorena was unable to start due to stomach problems. Team SD Worx is having a dream start in the Tour de France Femmes. The Dutch WorldTeam immediately made the most of its strength in width in the first stage. Successful Giro Donne for Team SD Worx with two wins and two podium finishes

With two stage wins and as many podium places, Team SD Worx experienced a successful Giro Donne. Lorena Wiebes won a bunch sprint and showed she has also made huge strides in climbing. "Three weeks after her victory in the Tour de Suisse, Blanka Vas has proven to be completely back at the front with a stage win in the Giro Donne. In the first stage of the Italian round in Sardinia, the Hungarian champion managed to win the sprint from a group of about 25 riders. In the tricky sixth stage with an uphill finish, Lorena Wiebes proved once again that she can do more than just sprint. The European champion remained continuously in the front ranks until Annemiek van Vleuten made the decisive acceleration uphill. In the chasing group, Wiebes then rode everyone off the wheel on the final slope, good for a neat second place. "I already knew a slightly uphill finish suited me, but this one was still pretty long (800m at8%). Lorena Wiebes rushes to first win of the season in second stage of UAE Tour

Lorena Wiebes took the first win of the season in Al Mirfa for Team SD Worx. A day after her second place in the opening stage, the European champion convincingly won the bunch sprint. "The wind played a big role today, but we were continuously where we needed to be. I was brought perfectly by our lead-out, after which I was able to finish. I am very happy with this," Wiebes said.

Lorena Wiebes fights back after late crash and sprints to second place in UAE Tour

Team SD Worx kicked off the season today with a second-place finish for Lorena Wiebes in the opening stage of the UAE Tour. The 23-year-old European champion was involved in a crash 3.8 kilometres from the line, but fought her way back into the peloton and sprinted to second place after all. "Of course I am bummed about that crash, because that always takes strength. I was brought perfectly, but came up just that little bit short. Tomorrow there will be another chance," said a combative Lorena Wiebes.

Lorena Wiebes aims to colour debut for Team SD Worx with stage win in UAE Tour

Team SD Worx kicks off the 2023 season in the UAE Tour (9-12 FEB). Lorena Wiebes will defend Team SD Worx colours in the United Arab Emirates for the first time, as will Femke Markus and Barbara Guarischi. Also featuring Lonneke Uneken, the sprint train will roll out for the first time in the flat stages. Niamh Fisher-Black and Anna Shackley will get a change in the climbing stage. "I'm at the start to win," said motivated Lorena Wiebes.

DS Lars Boom thinks Blanka Vas can get a good result on fast world championships course

With the world championships in Hoogerheide, the apotheosis of the cyclo-cross season will follow on Saturday. Blanka Vas wants to end her inconsistent winter with a good result. "Hoogerheide is always a tough course, regardless of the weather conditions. Blanka's form is on the rise. On a good day, a place among the top five is possible, that's what we're going for," says sports director Lars Boom.

Documentary on first Tour de France Femmes for Team SD Worx

Women's cycling experienced another milestone last year with the first Tour de France Femmes. Never before had a race given women's cycling such a boost. The best cycling team in the UCI ranking, Team SD Worx, seized this first Tour de France Femmes to make a unique documentary. At training camps, at the riders' homes, during the recons of stages and throughout the lap, a camera crew was given complete freedom to follow the team 'behind the scenes'.

Team SD Worx contracts Marie Schreiber

Marie Schreiber has signed a three-year contract with Team SD Worx. The 19-year-old Luxembourger will ride cyclocross races for her current team, Tormans Cyclo Cross Team, until the end of February. Schreiber has already joined Team SD Worx's training camp in Denia, Spain.
