Lorena Wiebes showcased her class one final time in her last road race of the season. “I was determined to honour this jersey,” Wiebes said. “It’s been a fantastic season. Winning 25 races in 2025 is a beautiful statistic. It’s been a great year together with Team SD Worx-Protime.”

Wiebes praised her teammates for their flawless support:
“My team did an excellent job today. We were always well positioned, and I felt I had really strong legs. I launched my sprint just before the cobbles, and my speed was so high that I could finish it off comfortably.”

It was also the first time she raced in the Dutch national champion’s jersey, which gave her extra motivation.
“I was really looking forward to wearing this jersey. I’m proud of it, and it’s great to honour it with a win in my very first race wearing it. Taking 25 victories this season and making it my best year ever makes me very proud. It’s a wonderful way to end my road season.”

However, Wiebes’ season isn’t quite over yet. “I still have the Gravel World Championships on home soil and then the Track World Championships. Only after that, it’s time for a holiday.”
