Team SD Worx-Protime wants to help Mischa Bredewold to second win in a row in GP Plouay

Less than a week after the exciting end of the Tour de France Femmes, the peloton gathers again in France for the GP de Plouay - Lorient- Agglomération Trophée. Last year's edition was won by Mischa Bredewold, who then somewhat unexpectedly won the bunch sprint. "This year we will try to go for a second win in a row. The situation has changed, though. Mischa is now being taken into account. It would be extra nice if she can win as defending champion in the European champion jersey,’ said sport director Lars Boom.

Boom: ‘Personally, I have good memories of the GP Plouay. It's a classic race in the summer. It's nice to get that classic feeling again in August too. It is also not an easy race to win. Different race situations are possible: a sprint with an elite group, a bunch sprint, but also a solo victory. The fact that the Tour de France Femmes is only just over is a unique situation. That could turn out to be good or bad.’

‘However, Mischa Bredewold had a good feeling in the Tour de France Femmes. We explored the new course of the GP Plouay today. That also helps to ‘wake up’ the legs. Mischa is in form and had a good rest week. Her win last year came somewhat as a surprise, now she starts as a favourite. She will be watched more. With Mischa Bredewold, Femke Markus, Femke Gerritse, Lonneke Uneken and Elena Cecchini, we will start with a strong team in Brittany. We will be able to race open. Elena Cecchini also has a special connection with this race and would like to ride a good result. That we can put several pawns forward plays into our hands.’
