Barbara Guarischi extends contract with Team SD Worx-Protime until 2027

Team SD Worx-Protime is proud to announce that Barbara Guarischi has extended her contract, continuing her succesful journey with the team. At 35, Guarischi remains as motivated as ever, driven by the challenges and camaraderie. “I feel at home here,” she says. “Cycling still excites me, and being surrounded by great people makes the hard work worthwhile. Every race is a new challenge, and that’s what keeps me going.”

Barbara Guarischi: “The most beautiful victories are those you achieve together as a team. That’s my definition of success,” she explains. “It’s about all the pieces falling into place, not about one rider standing out. That’s also what motivates me to keep going. I love the feeling when a win is the result of teamwork.”

Since joining in 2023, she has grown not only as an athlete but also as a person. Teammates like Lorena Wiebes played a role by pushing her to the limit in training. “To be good for my leaders, I had to be good for myself. By challenging myself and going deep, I could position my leaders better. This team has made me stronger and more confident—not just as a rider, but as a person.”

“I’ve learned a lot about life as a cyclist. I started when I was twelve and I wasn’t the biggest talent. But so many years later, I’m riding for one of the best teams in the world. In life, you get what you want by working for it. Discipline and perseverance matter more than pure talent,” Guarischi emphasizes. “In the next two seasons, I want to focus on guiding young riders and contributing to their careers and the team’s success.”

Guarischi played a key role in developing the sprint train alongside Lorena Wiebes. Her wealth of experience is always invaluable. Nobody finds the right lines in the final meters quite like Barbara. To build a balanced team, you need a good mix of young talent and experience. That’s why it’s so important that we’ve secured such a strong road captain like Guarischi through to 2027.”
