Team SD Worx heads towards Trofeo Alfredo Binda with confidence

After the perfect report in recent weeks with a fifth win in a row in Danilith Nokere Koerse , Team SD Worx is heading to Italy with confidence. "The last few years we had some bad luck in Trofeo Alfredo Binda, but we are in a good flow. With Lorena Wiebes, we again have one of the contenders for victory," says sports manager Danny Stam.

Team SD Worx has started the season like a comet. In the latest five races where the team has started, it has invariably won. "Perhaps the secret to success is that Team SD Worx always goes for nothing less than victory," explains Anna Shackley. "That pressure might be paralysing for some riders, but for us it really gives a lot of motivation to make the most of it. We do feel some pressure now after the five wins in a row to maintain the win streak, but we will do everything we can to succeed."

Sports manager Danny Stam: "Trofeo Alfredo Binda didn't run the way we wanted in recent years, but we have been successful here in the past with wins with Lizzie Deignan-Armitstead, among others. Besides, we are in a good flow. Our season start went perfectly. You can't even imagine such a start to the season beforehand. That gives a lot of confidence and also takes some of the pressure off. Hopefully we can continue the line in Trofeo Alfredo Binda."

"Lorena Wiebes was keen to start in the World Tour leader's jersey. With her, we also have a contender for the victory in the ranks. In Trofeo Alfredo Binda, a bigger group regularly goes to the line. This race suits Lorena, as she already won here as a junior. We can therefore aim for a sprint, but if the scenario presents itself that we can send a rider on the attack, we will certainly not fail to do so. For young girls like Anna Shackley, Niamh Fisher-Black and Mischa Bredewold, this could be a great opportunity to get into the spotlight. The victory series tastes like more, there are still great races to come," said Danny Stam.

After the UAE Tour and Strade Bianche, Trofeo Alfredo Binda is the third race of the season for Anna Shackley. "I feel I have made strides," said the British rider. "When you feel good in a few races, it gives a lot of confidence for what is to come. So I'm looking forward to Trofeo Alfredo Binda. Maybe I can slip into a breakaway to help the team.
