The day after her sprint victory, Mischa Bredewold once again proved to be the strongest — this time in the individual time trial. The Dutch champion finished 13 seconds ahead of Maeva Squiban. Bredewold now heads into the final weekend as the overall leader, holding a 26-second advantage over Squiban.

“I feel very happy and relieved,” Bredewold said. “I had put a lot of pressure on myself. This was the first time since winning the Dutch title that I could ride a time trial in the champion’s jersey on my Specialized Shiv TT Disc bike. I really wanted to win — in fact, this was my main goal for the week. Yesterday’s victory didn’t change that. I wanted to do justice to the Dutch jersey, and I also felt the expectations from the outside world. So I was quite nervous before the start. But the whole team helped me manage those nerves. That’s why I’m so happy for the team that we’ve now taken three victories in a row.”

“It’s great to go into the final weekend as the leader. Of course, I hope to defend the overall classification, but I’ll take it day by day. I’ve already achieved my main goal for the week with this time trial win — anything else now is a bonus. There’s still a tough final weekend ahead. It’s a bit of a waiting game to see how my legs will feel tomorrow and what the other teams will do. But of course, we’ll do everything we can to defend the leader’s jersey,” Bredewold concluded.
