Lorena Wiebes: "Our team chased the breakaway all day. Riding at the front for a hundred kilometres with four riders takes a lot of energy. So I did feel the pressure in the final metres to finish it off. There was a lot of chaos, but Anna van der Breggen did a strong turn in the last three kilometres, after which she set up Lotte Kopecky and me perfectly. In the final, I was mainly focused on Lotte's rear wheel. We have shown once again that we are a good tandem. I have complete confidence in her and it's fantastic what she does for me. The whole team has worked hard for this. It means a lot to me to see their happiness after the finish line and to be able to share the joy with my teammates."

‘Will Lotte Kopecky gain confidence from this? What she did today was impressive once again. I have the impression that she is getting better. Above all, I hope she rediscovers the fun. The atmosphere in the team is really good. That's also why I chose this team. It's super important to enjoy what you do. That's a key to success in sport.’

"Whether I'm now aiming for the green jersey? Let's just say I don't want to give away points. I'm taking part in the intermediate sprints, but I'm not going all out. I wouldn't want to lose the final sprint because I went all out in the race. When I saw Marianne go, I also went for it. We made it a short sprint. I hope for another sprint opportunity tomorrow. I hope the girls recover well, because they gave a lot today. But this victory is the perfect motivation boost," Wiebes concludes.
