With Lotte Kopecky and Demi Vollering in the first two places in the final classification, Team SD Worx-Protime dominated the Tour of Romandy. In the final stage on Swiss territory, Niamh Fisher-Black tactically placed the team in a seat with a monster sixty-kilometre breakaway with Riejanne Markus. The two stayed away, before Fisher-Black was beaten by Markus in the sprint.
Lotte Kopecky finished third behind the two early attackers in the final stage to secure the overall victory. Demi Vollering was involved in a multi-rider crash in the final kilometres, but was awarded the same time as Kopecky's group at the finish. Vollering, who won the queen's stage on Saturday, thus managed to keep her second place in the standings.

‘I have a good feeling after this Tour of Romandie,’ Kopecky said. ‘It's a nice stage race to put my name on. It was an ideal situation for us with Niamh Fisher-Black in the attack. After all, she was not very far in the general classification, so it was perfect that she was in the breakaway. The gap gradually narrowed as the other teams started to chase. It's sad for Niamh that she didn't manage to win the stage, but she rode a fantastic race and that's nice.’

‘Whether it's a disappointment that I didn't manage to win a stage? Definitely not. Of course it would have been nice to win a stage. But Demi won a nice stage yesterday for the team. I myself came second twice and third once. I came here to see how my form was. I am happy with where I am at the moment with a view to the world championships in Zurich in three weeks' time. After the European Time Trial Championships there will be another tough training block. But I am very happy with this final victory in the Tour of Romandie,’ Kopecky concluded.

Sports manager Danny Stam: ‘This was a strong ride from our team. With Niamh Fisher-Black on the attack, we found ourselves in an ideal situation. Niamh was 1 minute 14 behind Lotte, Riejanne Markus was 5 minutes behind. We couldn't have wished for better. So we instructed Niamh to cooperate fully. We were in a seat for a long time as a result. We had instructed her not to necessarily get in front in the final kilometres. But I also understand that Niamh might still had third place in the general classification in her mind and went full steam ahead. It's a shame she didn't win, but we are super happy with the role she played for the team today.’

‘This is another great overall win for Team SD Worx-Protime in the Tour of Romandie. It is great to have all editions of this race on our team record. With Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio, Demi Vollering and Lotte Kopecky, three riders won the Tour of Romandy for us. In these three days we took a stage win, the overall victory and were one and two in the general classification. We are very satisfied with that,’ concluded Stam.
