Mischa Bredewold stands on the final podium of the Lotto Thuringia Ladies Tour The European champion thus continues the line of her good results Only Ruth Edwards did better by taking a lot of time in the first stage For Bredewold, second place in the final classification is another step in her development as an all-round rider "It's nice to be on the final podium. Of course you always aim for the top step, but I did some things in the Lotto Thüringen Ladies Tour that I can take with me towards the future.

Mischa Bredewold: "I must honestly admit that my second place in the final classification feels double. I am very happy with it, because as a team we rode really well. We were on the podium four times, including twice with Barbara Guarischi If you look at the race as a whole, we rode well together. But when you finish second to Ruth Edwards, who took so much time in the first stage, it is a bit of a shame that we missed out on the overall win. This race is tailor-made for all-round riders I had a lot of fun racing here and still managed to take some personal victories.

"So the spring didn't turn out to be what I expected because of a broken rib. I am proud of how I still managed to turn that around relatively quickly with a win in Itzulia and a good Spanish block. I am therefore grateful to my team for keeping me calm and coaching me well.

"In the Lotto Thüringen Ladies Tour I immediately noticed that the form is really good The goal was to be good here, but then of course it has to work. I rode better here than I expected beforehand. In the first stage I was able to answer Kasia Niewiadoma's attack on an uphill stretch. That was the first time in my career And that victory in the time trial will stay with me for a long time. I did dream about it, but I hadn't seen it coming yet.

"I will now continue to work on that towards the Tour de France Femmes On Monday I leave on altitude training to Brides-Les-Bains, together with Demi Vollering. I've never done that before and so I'm curious about it I am happy with how I am riding uphill at the moment In the first stage of the Tour de Suisse, I was able to help Demi uphill. That was also the first time I was able to play a significant role on a climb. I hope with this altitude training in Brides-Les-Bains to build on that and take a new step so I can help Demi in the Tour de France Femmes as well," Bredewold concludes
