Team SD Worx-Protime, together with Barbara Guarischi, Marta Lach, Femke Markus, Femke Gerritse, Elena Cecchini and Lorena Wiebes, will be chasing a third consecutive victory at In Flanders Fields, formerly Gent-Wevelgem. The iconic WorldTour race is high on Wiebes’ wish list.
“This is a special race for me. The Kemmelberg will be the decisive point of the race. We’ll have to be sharp there and make sure we’re positioned at the front.”

Lorena Wiebes: “I’ve put the disappointment of the Brugge-De Panne race behind me. It’s frustrating when you don’t get the chance to sprint, but that’s part of the sprinting game. It actually gives me extra motivation for In Flanders Fields. Situations like that keep you sharp.”

“The Plugstreets are back in our route as well. That will create nervousness. Still, I think the Kemmelberg remains the key point. In last year’s edition, I was able to follow the attacks there. I hope I can do that again. I’m gaining more confidence in that kind of effort, but of course, every race you have to prove it again. Positioning before the first ascent of the Kemmelberg will be crucial.”

“Three wins in a row would be great, but this is a difficult race to win. Gent-Wevelgem, now called In Flanders Fields, holds a special place in my heart. I had to wait a long time before I could win it for the first time. Last year, I took my 100th career victory there. And beyond my personal experiences, the race carries extra meaning because of its link to history. In any case, I will do everything I can to chase that third consecutive win together with Team SD Worx-Protime.”
