Team SD Worx-Protime targets stage victories in the Tour of Britain

Team SD Worx-Protime heads to the Tour of Britain with Lotte Kopecky, Mischa Bredewold, Femke Gerritse, Julia Kopecký, Steffi Häberlin and Lorena Wiebes. With this strong six-rider squad, the Dutch WorldTour team hopes to take stage wins in Great Britain. “Every year, it’s a challenging course with quite a lot of climbing, and I’m looking forward to being back at the start and hopefully competing for a stage victory,” said Lorena Wiebes, who will line up for the Tour of Britain for the fifth time.

Lorena Wiebes has fond memories of the Tour of Britain. She has raced four editions already, winning seven stages and the points classification twice. “The Tour of Britain always features a challenging route with plenty of altitude meters. This year is no different. Last year, luck was not on my side, including a serious crash, but the Tour of Britain therefore does not feel like unfinished business to me. I just enjoy racing this event and I’m looking forward to trying to ride a good race.”

“First and foremost, I’m aiming for a possible stage win. That is my personal goal and if that works out, we can always see what more is possible. After a successful Tour de France Femmes, I had a quiet week during which I rode a few criteriums. Normally, that means I’ll arrive at the start of the Tour of Britain feeling fresh, and I hope to bring some of the form I had during the Tour de France Femmes.”
