Sanne Cant is a legend in the cyclo-cross world. Three world titles, the same number of European titles, and no fewer than fifteen Belgian championships in a row. Cant paved the way and was one of the first female riders in Belgium to increase media attention for the sport. On the road, she proved herself to be a reliable road captain. After her illustrious career, she hung up her bike at the beginning of 2025. At the end of 2025, she joined Team SD Worx-Protime to guide and advise the young talents Blanka Vas and Marie Schreiber as a cyclo-cross coach.
Partly due to injuries and illnesses, Cant has not yet been able to fully make her mark on the development of Vas and Schreiber. At the end of the cyclo-cross season, however, Schreiber still claimed two victories and a podium finish, and Vas made a positive impression with a strong performance at the UCI Road World Championships. Cant immediately showed that she knows how to apply the right accents and that she has the qualities needed to succeed as a cyclo-cross coach and sports director. She fits perfectly within the culture of Team SD Worx-Protime.
