“I hope to maintain this good form for as long as possible”

Marie Schreiber has made a flying start to the season. The Luxembourg champion finished on the podium in last weekend’s gruelling Koppenbergcross (third place), having already claimed five cyclocross victories in the early stages of the 2026 season. This Saturday, Schreiber will line up at the European Championships, after which she will take a week of rest before embarking on an extensive cyclocross campaign. “I’m really looking forward to racing a lot of cyclocross. My form is good as well, so I hope to maintain it for as long as possible,” said Marie Schreiber.

Marie Schreiber: “I’m happy with how my cyclocross season has gone so far. The feeling is good again, and that’s very satisfying after a more difficult year last season. Even so, I still don’t see myself as one of the favourites. I try to focus on my own race in every event. That approach has already worked well for me during my victories, and it also helped me secure third place in the Koppenbergcross.”

“Last Sunday, I deliberately chose to ride at my own pace so I wouldn’t blow up on all the climbs of the Koppenberg. It’s great to head to Zeddam for the European Championships in such good form, but I’m not putting any pressure on myself. I already have a beautiful jersey on my shoulders with the Luxembourg national colours (laughs). Although, of course, the European champion’s jersey is a beautiful one too. Whatever jersey it may be, I’m really looking forward to racing an extensive cyclocross calendar and battling it out against the strong fields that line up at every event,” Schreiber concluded.

Note: Marie Schreiber’s cyclocross programme may still be subject to minor changes due to unforeseen circumstances.
