Marie Schreiber commits to Team SD Worx-Protime until 2028

Marie Schreiber has extended her contract and will remain with Team SD Worx-Protime for the next three seasons. The Luxembourg national champion across three disciplines (road, time trial, and cyclocross) feels at home with the team where she began her professional career. “Stability is an important factor for growth. I want to develop into a more complete rider, and I believe I’m in the right environment to do that,” says Marie Schreiber.

Marie Schreiber: “I’m happy here, so I didn’t feel the need to talk to other teams. Why ask for ten opinions when you already know you’re in the right place? I’ve found the right environment to grow. I’m surrounded by people I trust — people who work every day to achieve the highest possible level.”

“Why do I feel so at home here? There’s a high level of professionalism, but also room for individual freedom. The team looks at what works best for each rider. I find stability here, but I also need to be challenged. In my very first race as a pro, Team SD Worx-Protime threw me straight into the deep end by letting me debut in the Vuelta Femenina. Challenging yourself leads to growth. I want to ride new races, like the Classics, and try different things. That’s easier when you’re surrounded by people you already know and trust.”

I want to become World Champion cyclocross one day

“Where can I still grow? I need to be a bit more patient. I’m now more often in situations where I can compete for the win, but then I need to stay calm. If you haven’t been in those situations often, you don’t always know how to handle them.”

“On the road, I want to become a more complete rider and improve my time trialling. But my main focus remains cyclocross. I’ve already achieved some great things, like winning a World Cup. My big goal is to become World Champion. I also want to win the European title and the overall World Cup classification during my career. This coming season, I want to be more consistent and become a regular top-five finisher. I’m looking forward to chasing the highest goals together with Team SD Worx-Protime.”

Sports manager Danny Stam: “Building together toward a complete rider"

Within the long-term vision of Team SD Worx-Protime, with a horizon through to 2028, Marie Schreiber’s contract extension fits perfectly. The team is deliberately building a balance between experience and young talent, and Marie is a key part of that strategy. She joined us at a young age, and you can see her growing step by step. She knows exactly what she wants and follows her path with determination — a crucial trait for any top athlete. It’s great to see that she doesn’t get distracted by outside offers, but consciously chooses to stay with us.”

“We’re very happy that she wants to stay — both on the road and in cyclocross. The plan is to guide her more toward a road program in the future. She should be able to hold her own in the Classics. We hope to help her become a complete rider. Thanks to the combination of cross and road, she’s developing broadly. She’s not quite there yet on the road, but there’s time — and that’s the beauty of working with young talent: you get to build together.”
