Axelle Dubau-Prévot joins Team SD Worx-Protime

Team SD Worx-Protime has signed Axelle Dubau-Prévot until 2028. The 30-year-old Frenchwoman has made a strong impression on the team management in recent months. Her tenth place in Liège–Bastogne–Liège, in particular, demonstrates her qualities and potential. “We are convinced that Axelle still has plenty of room for improvement,” emphasises sporting director Danny Stam.
 
Although Axelle Dubau-Prévot has been cycling for years, she has not yet had a long career in the women’s road peloton. This is due to her various forays into cyclocross, mountain biking, trail running and gravel racing. During an adventurous cycling holiday in 2022, she discovered the latter discipline, which immediately captured her cycling heart. She soon found success in the UCI Gravel World Series. Among other achievements, she became Gravel Burn winner with 4 our of 6 stage wins, finished two times second at Traka and claimed the French national title on the gravel bike. 

Her strong performances on unpaved terrain did not go unnoticed by the major WorldTour teams. For 2026, she signed a contract with EF Education-Oatly, where she was able to ride a combined programme on both the road and gravel. She made her mark not only at Liège–Bastogne–Liège but also by winning the bronze medal at the European Gravel Championships.
 
Pauline Ferrand-Prévot’s younger sister (they share the same mother) has been on Team SD Worx-Protime’s radar since the UAE Tour in February. “Axelle makes a particularly strong impression on hilly terrain,” says Stam. “Precisely because we want to strengthen our squad for the Ardennes classics, she’s an excellent fit for us. As she had to ride many races in support of the team last season, we haven’t yet seen the best of her. There’s certainly still room for improvement when it comes to climbing.”
 
“It wasn’t until 2026 that I turned fully professional for the first time,” says Axelle Dubau-Prévot. “Before that, I combined cycling with my job as a nutritionist. I knew I had talent, but I thought: what if I went all out for it? That was a game-changer. Then I joined EF Education-Oatly, where, after the UAE Tour, I’d hoped to be able to compete in races like Strade Bianche or Milan–San Remo. That didn’t work out. Two days before the Ardennes classics, I was suddenly called up. This was my chance. I immediately hit it off with Noemi Rüegg and Magdeleine Vallieres Mill. I poured all my passion and determination into those races. When I feel well surrounded, I’m on a mission to ride as well as I possibly can for my team-mates.”
 
“After Liège–Bastogne–Liège, I got calls from several teams. I took a chance with Team SD Worx-Protime. I’ve been following this team for years. It’s a dream to now be part of it. It feels a bit bizarre: ten years ago, my career was more or less over, and now, in my thirties, I’m suddenly a member of one of the best cycling teams in the world. I’m fully committed to road cycling. That was an easy choice.”
 
“My sister Pauline is an inspiration. Seeing her win the Tour de France Femmes was very special. As a Frenchwoman, I have the ambition to compete in the Tour. It would be fantastic if I could achieve that for the first time with Team SD Worx-Protime. Anna van der Breggen has also been an inspiration to me for years. For so many reasons. She’s a legend. She’s always calm and focused on her goals. You can’t rattle her. She’d won everything, retired, and then came back at such a high level. It’s a dream of mine to be able to ride the Ardennes classics alongside her.”
 
“What are my areas for improvement? Although I’m already thirty, I still feel quite young in the world of cycling. I’ve still got so much to learn. I want to become more consistent. You might be a strong rider, but above all you need to know how to win a race. At Team SD Worx-Protime, there are lots of riders I can learn from and whom I also want to support as best I can.”
 
“If my personality were a race, it would definitely be Liège–Bastogne–Liège,” she laughs. “I’m punchy, I have my ups and downs, but I’ve got a huge heart. I care about people and I’d go through fire for my team-mates.”
