Lorena Wiebes claimed victory for the second stage in a row. On a day filled with attacks, Team SD Worx-Protime remained in control. The Dutch WorldTeam got the sprint it wanted and, wearing the yellow leader’s jersey, Wiebes duly finished off the work of her teammates. “Another great day and I’m happy that I managed to extend my lead in the general classification. We’ll aim for the highest possible result again in the final stage.”

Lorena Wiebes: “It turned into a day with many attacks, but no group ever really managed to get away. Thanks in part to the controlling work of the whole of Team SD Worx-Protime. Marta Lach and Femke Gerritse chased very well in the final, Lisa Van Belle took over later on. It was nice to pick up the bonus seconds at the intermediate sprint.”

“The finale was chaotic. I lost Lotte Kopecky and Barbara Guarischi when I was forced towards the left-hand side. But Lisa Van Belle and Marta Lach were there, and they took over. I decided to launch my sprint early because I felt the moment had come to start my sprint. It’s very positive that the teamwork and team spirit were rewarded with another stage victory,” concluded Lorena Wiebes.
